Eaton Bray with Edlesborough Parochial Church Council
The September meeting began with a short silence to remember Norah Coates, who had served on the P.C.C. and at St Mary's faithfully for many years, including serving two terms as Churchwarden, and who would be greatly missed.
The distribution of the proceeds of this year's Carnival, £10,000, among many local charities was agreed, half going to St Mary's Fabric Fund, and half the remainder to the Dagnall Church Extension Fund.
Plans were finalized for a Congregational Meeting to be held on 20 September, and the forward planning of a number of new ventures was continued, some of which have already been announced. Details were given of progress on the repair work to the south transept roof, which would be completed before the autumn, although necessary changes to the specification would make the final cost considerably greater than had originally been estimated.
It was agreed to re-hang the Roll of Honour within the church, preserving this important record of those who were on active service during the First World War, compiled during those years as they joined up.
