Quite a chilly afternoon to start the Ladies Guild meeting but on arrival, everyone was soon chatting.

Deirdrea welcomed the members and two visitors, Janet and Terry. There were birthday cards for Celia, Gillian Hunter and Joan Thorne along with good wishes.

Carol Jones, who is a member of the Sugar Craft Guild was the speaker, who demonstrated various forms of cake icing.

Cupcakes are now very trendy (as well as tasty) ,for weddings and children's parties. Carol showed various types of icing and ways of decorating them with feather icing, printed sugar paste disks, handmade rosebuds, two coloured icing and lots of hand made toppers and sprinkles. She then went on to decorate one of her twin Grandaughter's second birthday cake. This cake was Olivia's and was decorated with a plaque saying Happy Birthday and her name in pink icing, then came the handmade teddy bears, an absolute delight to look at, to almost finish the cake except for the piping.

Boards were passed around showing various forms of piped decorations and flowers, examples of icing plaques with hand painting, there was also a table of Carol's work, which showed great patience and preciseness.A special, relaxing afternoon full of inspiring ideas and many handy tips. June Thorne gave the vote of thanks.

Devotions followed led by Thelma.
