St Mary's Parochial Church Council
At the last meeting of the Parochial Church Council thanks were expressed to those who had organised the recent Christmas Fayre, which had raised a much-needed £1,000 for church funds. In view of the expense being incurred in repairing the roof it was agreed that it was now time to bring together a group of people to create a Fund Raising plan.
It was also agreed that monies should again be allocated from this year's income to donate to charitable organisations as in previous years.
The young people had enjoyed a memorable Christmas Party on 3rd December, although attendance had been down on last year.
Arrangements are in hand to produce a 'Welcome Pack' - material to be made available to new visitors to St Mary's, providing information about its history, its worship pattern and its many activity groups.
St Mary's has habitually had an annual 'Parish Project' - a charity for which fund raising is carried out throughout the year - in 2006 it was agreed that they should support 'Friends of Kagando' - a charity in Uganda providing medical care.
