Coffers Corner
We ended 2013 with a small surplus of £500. However, this was only achieved with the kind donation of £5,000 given anonymously towards the year end. However good it is to receive such gifts, it is worrying that we cannot cover our annual expenses with receipts from our 'normal' sources, i.e. fundraising and more importantly from regular giving by members, either using monthly bankers orders or by weekly Free Will envelopes. It is appreciated that we are all experiencing a drain on our finances in the present economic climate, but it is important that we examine our budget carefully, and regularly, to see if more could be given to the church. A lot of charities, including churches, are suffering at this time, so it is vital that we keep a close eye on our expenditure and improve our income where possible.
It would be good to see a large number present at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, to be held on 27 April following the morning service, when you can hear more of our achievements and plans for the future.
